About us

The Shalom Catholic Community

A missionary community founded in 1982 in Fortaleza, Brazil to be ministers of peace and joy has brought its MASSIVE event to North America. ACAMPS has been going on for more than 20 years, we started in  Brazil and now the festival takes place in most of the missions of the community around the world. 

Thus Acamps have spread throughout the continents, there is Acamps in South America, Africa, and Europe and this will be the 5th annual Acamps Summer Festival in North America!

Who we are

The Community is present in more than 80 dioceses in Brazil and in 30 other countries around the word with missionary houses and Evangelization Centers. Through prayer, evangelization initiatives through art, music, formation and many other services promoting human dignity, the Shalom Community intends to reach out to men and women of the whole world, especially the young.

The Shalom Catholic Community is an International Private Association of the Faithful with legal entity representation, recognized by the Holy See by decree on February 22, 2007, together with the Pontifical Council for the Laity. 

Acamps in the Berkshires!

The Acamps USA festival will take place in Camp Schodack, in the Berkshires, Upstate New York.

Lodging: You can camp without a tent! The facility offers full resort-style amenities, and outdoor activities.
Meals: Forget about packing food – we’ve got it all sorted for you! Every day, we’ll surprise you with delicious breakfast, lunch, and dinner. 
Activities:  We’ve prepared everything to give you an unforgettable fall. Our program combines mornings of spirituality, afternoons of team competitions, and nights of parties!
In addition to the program of the Acamps, you will have access to the Campground activities such as:  2 heated swimming pools + a massive 25’ double waterslide, 300’ slip-n-slide waterslide, horseback riding, go karts, 300-yard zip line, 40’ climbing tower, ninja warrior course, air-conditioned fitness center & spin room, air-conditioned music studio, large indoor spaces (fieldhouse for worship, theater, arts & crafts & more), archery, etc.

Acamps is set in the perfect place to soak in nature’s beauty — where silence meets adventure. It’s where you unplug, dive into real fun, build authentic community, and grow deeper in your faith. Located right on the Massachusetts–New York border in the stunning Berkshires, we’re just 2.5 hours from Boston and NYC. The perfect getaway without going too far. 🙌
